Volunteer
We have faithful volunteers who serve on the following teams:
Hospitality
This team volunteers for event set up or clean up, and/or provides food preparation.
Technology
Digital Media
Golf Committee
This team is responsible for the success of our largest fundraising event. We work well with planners and go-getters who help coordinate the event and procure hole sponsors and auction/prize items. Event day volunteers are also needed for beverage carts, ticket sales, silent auction, and prize set up.
Fundraising
Volunteers serve by working specific fundraising events throughout the year. We serve concessions at Whitecaps Concessions, work at Culver’s Night, and collect cans at Recycled Can and Bottle Drive. New for Fall 2025: We are looking for volunteers at Laker Tailgating Town.
Prayer/Spiritual Committee
These precious volunteers are interceding for the Board, Staff, and Community of Moriah Ministries. They are faithful, quiet servants who lift the needs of Moriah to the Lord in Prayer.
*Moriah Ministries’ volunteers or staff who serve coaches are determined by a volunteer application process and require a training period.
How we serve
Chaplaincy
A crucial ministry of presence. Moriah Chaplains are available on the sidelines, on the road, in the locker rooms, and at hospital bedsides. We are always prepared to serve the community of GVSU. Chaplains provide opportunities for mentorship, discipleship, encouragement, and fun. Our ministry has touched more than 2,500 students over the past 17 years, impacting the lives of students, coaches, faculty and their families. We currently serve Laker’s track and field, cross country, softball, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball. We also work with current students, photojournalists, and members of the football team. Chaplains are on call 24/7 reaching out, serving, ministering, encouraging, and challenging students.
Alumni
We continue to serve our student alumni as they transition into their life after college and
careers. Ministering to Alumni occurs through continued relationships. It is a privilege to connect, coach, and care for these friends. Watching how God uses these young adults for His purposes is incredibly rewarding.
Faith Building
We follow Jesus’ model of doing life with others by being present. We provide Bibles to students who ask for them along with other inspirational resources and studies. We are always ready to give an answer when asked about our faith and our Savior. We also provide a support program built on faith, film, friendship, and food.
Serve
Serve provides mission and service opportunities to our community. On our Serve trips we become the hands and feet of Jesus. Serving alongside local organizations in these communities we can make a positive impact. In the past, Moriah has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Miami, Birmingham, Alabama, Lumberton, North Carolina, and Rockford’s Camp Roger to serve as well within our own community in Allendale, Mi. Traveling and working side by side with our students provides a powerful opportunity to build relationships, exhibit a faith filled life, and while making an impact on our world.
